Hoymiles HF-800-WB 800VA Microinverter with Wi-Fi & Bluetooth
The Hoymiles HF-800-WB is a compact 800 VA microinverter from the HiFlow series, designed for small residential photovoltaic systems.
With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, the inverter communicates directly with the Hoymiles S-Miles Cloud platform. No separate DTU gateway is required for monitoring.
The HF-800-WB uses a single MPPT with one DC input and offers a maximum DC input voltage of 100 V. Its IP67-rated enclosure and passive, fanless cooling make it suitable for outdoor installation in accordance with the manufacturer's installation requirements.

Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Unlike Hoymiles systems that require a separate DTU communications gateway, the HF-800-WB has its communications hardware built in.
Bluetooth is used for local communication and commissioning, while 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connects the inverter to the Hoymiles monitoring platform.
Through S-Miles Cloud, system owners can monitor inverter operation, energy production and system status from a compatible device.
For reliable cloud monitoring, the inverter must be installed within adequate range of the property's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Solar module compatibility
The HF-800-WB has one MPPT and one DC input.
Hoymiles specifies a commonly used PV module power of 320–520+ W. Module wattage alone, however, is not enough to determine compatibility.
Before connecting a PV module, its electrical characteristics must be checked against the inverter limits, including:
- maximum input voltage: 100 V
- MPPT operating range: 16–96 V
- maximum input current: 16 A
- maximum short-circuit input current: 25 A
Do not select or combine PV modules solely on the basis of their nominal wattage. The module's Voc, Vmp, Isc and operating current must remain within the inverter manufacturer's limits under the expected installation conditions.
Built for outdoor installation
The HF-800-WB has an IP67 enclosure rating and operates across an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +65°C.
Cooling is by natural convection, so there are no cooling fans or other fan-related moving parts.
The inverter measures 213 × 182.5 × 36.5 mm, excluding connectors and mounting brackets, and weighs approximately 2.1 kg.
Efficiency
The HF-800-WB has a manufacturer-specified peak efficiency of 97%, with a European weighted efficiency of 96%.
Nominal MPPT efficiency is 99.8%, while night-time power consumption is specified at less than 50 mW.
Important UK information — this is the microinverter only
This product listing is for the Hoymiles HF-800-WB microinverter as an individual component. It is not, by itself, a complete UK plug-in solar device or plug-in solar kit.
A compliant plug-in solar device for use with a standard UK mains socket is a complete system. Under the current GB Plug-in Solar Device Interim Product Specification, that system includes at least a PV module, inverter, appropriate DC cables and connectors, a mounting system and a manufacturer-supplied connection lead fitted with the required BS 1363 UK plug.
The HF-800-WB inverter on its own therefore must not be treated or advertised as a complete plug-and-play solar system.
Do not connect a Schuko lead to a UK socket using an adaptor
The global Hoymiles HF-800-WB datasheet references a 5 m Flex-S3 AC cable fitted with a CEE7/7 Schuko plug.
A CEE7/7 Schuko plug is not a UK BS 1363 plug.
For UK plug-in solar use, do not use a Schuko-to-UK travel adaptor or substitute an arbitrary mains lead. A compliant plug-in solar product must use the manufacturer-specified connection arrangement required for the complete approved product.
Plug-in solar in Great Britain
From 27 August 2026, compliant plug-in solar products can be legally supplied and used in Great Britain through a standard UK socket, subject to the applicable product, electrical and grid-connection requirements.
That change does not mean that every 800 W microinverter can simply be plugged into a socket.
A plug-in solar product must comply with the applicable GB Plug-in Solar Device Interim Product Specification and G98 network requirements. The current specification defines a plug-in solar device as a complete photovoltaic system including the PV module, inverter, manufacturer-supplied BS 1363 connection lead, appropriate cabling/connectors and mounting system. The product must also meet the applicable G98 requirements and be appropriately registered and assessed through the ENA process before being placed on the market as a compliant plug-in solar device. Government Assets
Buying this HF-800-WB microinverter separately does not turn a self-assembled collection of components into an approved plug-in solar product.
If you want a system intended for connection through a standard UK socket, choose one of our specifically identified UK-compliant plug-in solar kits rather than purchasing the inverter as a standalone component.
DNO notification
Solar generation connected in parallel with the electricity network must be notified to the relevant Distribution Network Operator (DNO) in accordance with the applicable connection procedure.
For installations qualifying for the G98 connect-and-notify route, the relevant notification is normally submitted within 28 days of installation. The exact connection procedure depends on the installation and equipment being used. GOV.UK
For a compliant plug-in solar product, follow the registration and notification instructions supplied with that complete product.
Fixed electrical installations
The HF-800-WB may also form part of a conventional photovoltaic installation rather than a plug-in solar device.
Where the system is being permanently connected to the electrical installation, it must be designed and installed in accordance with the applicable electrical, grid-connection and Building Regulations requirements.
