Product compliance
Solarfy supplies a range of electrical, solar photovoltaic and home-energy products.
Different products are subject to different regulatory and technical requirements.
Where applicable, products must satisfy the product-safety, electrical-safety, electromagnetic compatibility, environmental and other requirements that apply to them before being placed on the market.
Product-specific declarations, certificates, technical specifications and manufacturer documentation may be made available where applicable.
Standalone components
Solar panels, microinverters, mounting products, cables, connectors and other products may be sold individually as standalone components.
A standalone component is not automatically a complete plug-in solar device.
Purchasing multiple individual components does not, by itself, establish that the resulting combination satisfies the requirements applicable to a complete plug-in solar device.
Complete plug-in solar devices
Only products expressly described by Solarfy as complete plug-in solar devices suitable for the Great Britain plug-in solar route should be used in that manner.
Complete plug-in solar devices are subject to requirements applying to the complete product as well as its individual components.
Customers must follow the exact product configuration, mounting requirements and instructions supplied with the device.
Do not substitute or modify safety-critical components unless expressly permitted by the manufacturer.
Grid notification
Grid-connected generation is subject to the requirements of the relevant Distribution Network Operator.
Solarfy does not complete or submit G98 notifications, DNO applications or other grid-connection applications on behalf of customers.
Where available, we provide relevant technical specifications and manufacturer documentation for products purchased from us.
The owner of the installation is responsible for ensuring that applicable DNO requirements are satisfied.
Technical support
Solarfy provides product and technical support from qualified electrical professionals.
Our technical support primarily concerns the products we supply and may include product selection, specifications, compatibility, setup, operation and troubleshooting.
Remote support does not constitute an inspection or certification of a customer's fixed electrical installation.
Where the condition, design or safety of a fixed electrical installation needs to be assessed, an appropriate on-site assessment by a competent electrician may be required.
Electrical recycling and WEEE
Recycling electrical equipment
Electrical and electronic equipment should not be disposed of with ordinary household waste.
Electrical products can contain materials that can be recovered and recycled. Separating electrical waste also helps reduce the risk of potentially harmful materials entering the environment.
Crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol
Electrical and electronic products may carry a crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol.
This symbol means the product should be collected separately from normal household waste at the end of its useful life.
Solarfy WEEE registration
Solarfy Ltd is registered as an EEE producer.
WEEE producer registration number: WEE/MM4957AA
Producer registration relates to Solarfy's obligations under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations and should not be interpreted as a product-safety approval or certification of any individual product.
Our like-for-like take-back service
Solarfy provides a free like-for-like take-back service for household waste electrical and electronic equipment where required by the WEEE Regulations.
When you purchase a new item of electrical or electronic equipment from us, you may return an equivalent old item that performs the same or a similar function for recycling.
The take-back service is provided free of charge at our Birmingham trading address.
Please contact us before bringing or sending electrical waste to us.
Email: support@solarfy.co.uk
Take-back address:
Solarfy Ltd
Unit 2, Northside Business Centre
Wellington Street
Birmingham
B18 4NR
United Kingdom
Customers will be given at least 28 days following the relevant purchase to return equivalent waste electrical equipment through our take-back arrangement.
If you ask us to arrange collection from your home or another location, reasonable transport costs may apply.
Please do not send electrical waste to us without prior arrangement.
Other recycling options
Household electrical equipment may also be accepted by appropriate local-authority recycling facilities.
Contact your local authority for information about electrical recycling facilities in your area.
Why electrical waste should be recycled
Electrical products can contain valuable materials that can be recovered and reused.
Disposing of electrical equipment incorrectly can waste resources and may allow substances contained within the equipment to enter the environment.
Please recycle electrical equipment responsibly.
Batteries
Batteries should not be placed in ordinary household waste.
Where a product contains a removable battery, follow the applicable manufacturer instructions and use an appropriate battery recycling or collection facility.
Where Solarfy is required to provide a particular battery take-back service, information about that service will be made available to customers.
Product safety concerns
If you believe a product purchased from Solarfy may present a safety risk, stop using the product where it is safe to do so and contact us promptly.

Please provide your order number, product model, serial number where applicable and a description of the concern.

Important product-safety notices or recalls may also be published on our website.
