These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases made through solarfy.co.uk.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Our products
Solarfy supplies products including solar panels, microinverters, plug-in solar devices, mounting equipment, cables, accessories, battery storage products and other home-energy equipment.
We take reasonable care to ensure that descriptions, specifications, photographs and prices displayed on our website are accurate.
Product images are illustrative and minor differences in appearance, packaging, labelling or colour may occur.
Manufacturers may update product specifications from time to time.
Where a particular technical specification is important to your intended use, you should review the applicable product documentation or contact us before ordering.
3. Individual components and complete systems
Solarfy sells both individual solar components and, where expressly stated, complete systems.
A solar panel, microinverter, cable, plug lead, mounting system or other individual component is not by itself a complete plug-in solar device.
Purchasing several compatible components separately does not automatically mean that the resulting combination is a compliant plug-in solar device.
Only a product expressly described by Solarfy as a complete plug-in solar device suitable for the Great Britain plug-in solar route should be treated as such.
Where a complete plug-in solar device is offered, customers must use the exact components and configuration specified for that device and follow the supplied instructions.
4. Plug-in solar
Plug-in solar products intended to be connected to an existing low-voltage electrical installation through a standard UK mains socket must comply with the applicable Great Britain plug-in solar requirements.
The current framework applies to qualifying plug-in solar photovoltaic devices without integrated battery storage.
Complete plug-in solar devices are subject to specific requirements concerning matters including power output, inverter operation, plugs and connection leads, PV modules, cables and connectors, mounting systems, instructions, markings and network requirements.
Customers must not alter a complete plug-in solar device in a way that takes it outside the configuration specified by the manufacturer.
5. Standalone solar products
Products described as standalone components are supplied for use as part of an appropriate solar or electrical system.
They must not be assumed to be suitable for connection to a standard domestic socket simply because the individual component is electrically compatible with other solar equipment.
The installer or user is responsible for ensuring that the complete system in which an individual component is used satisfies all requirements applicable to that installation.
6. Electrical installation
The use of a plug-in solar product does not remove the need for the property's electrical installation and proposed socket outlet to be safe and suitable.
If there is any uncertainty about:
- the condition of the wiring;
- earthing;
- protective devices;
- socket condition;
- circuit suitability; or
- any other aspect of the electrical installation,
you should obtain an assessment from a competent electrician before connecting the product.
Where a new socket, new circuit or other fixed electrical work is required, the work must comply with applicable electrical safety and Building Regulations requirements.
7. Product and technical support
Solarfy provides product and technical support from qualified electrical professionals.
Our support may include assistance with:
- product selection;
- specifications;
- product compatibility;
- setup;
- operation;
- manufacturer instructions; and
- troubleshooting.
Our remote product support does not constitute an electrical installation inspection, Electrical Installation Condition Report, certification or approval of the fixed electrical installation at your property.
Advice relating specifically to the design, condition, alteration or safety of a fixed electrical installation may require an on-site assessment by a competent electrician.
Photographs, videos, telephone conversations, emails and messages can help us understand a query but cannot always establish the condition or safety of an electrical installation.
Where an on-site assessment is reasonably required, remote technical support is not a substitute for that assessment.
8. DNO and G98 responsibility
Grid-connected generation must comply with the requirements of the relevant Distribution Network Operator.
Where the applicable G98 connect-and-notify procedure applies, the relevant DNO must be notified within the applicable period following connection.
Solarfy does not complete or submit G98 notifications, DNO applications or other grid-connection applications on behalf of customers.
Where available, Solarfy will provide relevant product specifications and manufacturer documentation for products purchased from us.
The owner of the installation is responsible for ensuring that any required DNO notification, registration or approval is completed correctly and within the applicable timeframe.
If you are uncertain about your grid-connection requirements, you should contact your DNO or seek appropriate professional advice.
9. Existing generation and energy equipment
If your property already has solar PV, battery storage or other grid-connected generation, additional network or installation requirements may apply before further generation is added.
You should not assume that additional generation can simply be connected to an existing system.
Where relevant, you should confirm the position with your DNO and/or a competent electrical professional.
10. Batteries
Battery storage products are subject to requirements separate from the current Great Britain plug-in solar framework.
A battery product should not be connected as part of a plug-in solar device unless the particular arrangement is expressly permitted by applicable requirements and manufacturer documentation.
Battery products must be installed, connected, operated and maintained in accordance with their own product instructions and applicable requirements.
11. Mounting
Solar panels must be securely mounted using equipment and installation methods suitable for the particular product, structure and location.
You must follow applicable instructions concerning:
- fixings;
- anchoring;
- ballast;
- panel dimensions;
- mounting angles;
- ventilation;
- wind loading;
- snow loading;
- clearances; and
- structural suitability.
Do not use temporary or unsecured mounting methods where these are not expressly permitted.
You are responsible for obtaining any landlord, freeholder, management-company, planning or other property permission required for your proposed installation.
Where structural suitability is uncertain, obtain appropriate professional advice before installation.
12. Use and modification
Products must be installed, mounted, connected, operated and maintained in accordance with the instructions and specifications supplied with them.
Do not:
- modify safety-critical components;
- bypass protective equipment;
- alter products outside manufacturer instructions;
- substitute incompatible cables or connectors;
- use unsuitable adaptors;
- operate equipment outside its specified ratings; or
- use products in an environment for which they are not designed.
13. Energy generation and savings estimates
Any figures provided by Solarfy relating to estimated generation, energy savings, payback periods, household consumption or financial savings are estimates only.
Actual results depend on factors including:
- location;
- weather;
- orientation;
- panel angle;
- shading;
- system configuration;
- household energy consumption;
- self-consumption;
- electricity tariff; and
- product performance.
Unless expressly guaranteed in writing, such estimates do not constitute a guarantee of future generation or financial savings.
14. Prices and VAT
Prices displayed to consumers include VAT where applicable unless clearly stated otherwise.
Any applicable delivery charge or surcharge will be shown before you complete your purchase.
We may change prices at any time, but a price change will not affect an order that we have already accepted.
If a price is clearly incorrect because of an obvious error, we are not required to supply the product at the incorrect price.
If this occurs after an order has been placed but before acceptance, we will contact you.
15. Placing an order
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order.
We will send an acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order.
An order acknowledgement does not necessarily mean your order has been accepted.
A contract is formed when we confirm acceptance or dispatch of the order.
We may refuse or cancel an order where:
- the product is unavailable;
- there has been an obvious pricing or description error;
- payment cannot be authorised;
- we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse;
- we cannot reasonably deliver to the address provided; or
- we cannot lawfully supply the product.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid.
16. Payment
Payment must be made through one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
By supplying payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method.
Orders may be subject to fraud-prevention, identity or payment-verification checks.
17. Delivery
Our Shipping Policy forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
Unless we agree otherwise with you, goods will normally be delivered within 30 days of the contract being formed.
Estimated delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree that a particular date is essential.
For consumer orders, responsibility for the goods remains with Solarfy until the goods are delivered into your physical possession or the possession of a person identified by you to receive them, subject to applicable law.
18. Pre-orders
Products clearly identified as pre-order items are not immediately available for dispatch.
Any estimated availability, arrival or dispatch date is based on information reasonably available to us at the time.
Manufacturing, international shipping, customs clearance, port delays, carrier disruption and other circumstances may affect estimated dates.
If there is a significant delay, we will contact you with updated information and explain any cancellation rights available to you.
19. Cancellation and returns
Consumers purchasing online normally have the right to cancel eligible orders within 14 days of receiving the goods.
Details of how to cancel, return products and obtain a refund are contained in our Return and Refund Policy.
20. Faulty goods
Goods supplied by Solarfy must meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.
If a product is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not meet your legal rights, contact us at:
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.
21. Manufacturer warranties
Certain products include a manufacturer's warranty.
The applicable warranty period and conditions are shown on the relevant product page or in the manufacturer documentation supplied with the product.
A manufacturer's warranty is additional to your statutory consumer rights and does not replace them.
To report a potential warranty issue, email:
Please provide your order number, product model, serial number where applicable, description of the problem and any relevant photographs or video.
Depending on the product and circumstances, we may provide troubleshooting, arrange inspection, arrange return, liaise with the manufacturer, arrange repair, replacement or another appropriate remedy.
22. Warranty exclusions
Manufacturer warranties may contain exclusions for matters including:
- incorrect installation;
- installation contrary to instructions;
- misuse;
- accidental damage;
- unsuitable mounting;
- unauthorised modifications;
- altered cables or connectors;
- improper storage;
- external electrical faults;
- environmental conditions outside the product specification; or
- normal wear and tear.
The precise conditions are determined by the warranty applicable to the particular product.
These exclusions do not remove your statutory rights against Solarfy.
23. Installation and third-party costs
Unless required by law or expressly covered by the applicable warranty, manufacturer warranties may not cover third-party labour, access equipment, scaffolding, removal, transport, installation or reinstallation costs.
Any statutory rights you have will take priority over a manufacturer's warranty terms.
24. Our liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
This includes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of your statutory consumer rights;
- defective products where liability cannot lawfully be excluded; or
- any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
We are not responsible for loss or damage caused solely by misuse, unauthorised modification, incorrect installation, unsuitable mounting or failure to follow supplied instructions, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
25. Business customers
If you purchase goods wholly or mainly for purposes connected with your trade, business, craft or profession, you are purchasing as a business customer.
Consumer cancellation rights do not normally apply to business purchases.
Where Solarfy has separately agreed written trade terms with you, those terms will apply to the extent that they conflict with these Terms.
26. Intellectual property
The Solarfy name, branding, logos, website content, graphics, original photographs and other materials owned by Solarfy may not be copied, reproduced or commercially used without permission except where permitted by law.
Third-party product names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
27. Personal information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy and Cookie Policy.
28. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, contact:
Please provide your name, order number where applicable and details of your concern.
We aim to acknowledge complaints within three working days and resolve them as quickly as reasonably possible.
29. Events outside our reasonable control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where such an event materially delays your order, we will contact you and explain the available options.
30. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in force when your order was placed.
31. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory rights and protections available under the laws applicable where you live.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from bringing proceedings in a court in which they are legally entitled to bring them.
